Day 1

navagraha temple.jpgDay 01: DELHI/KOLKATA - GUWAHATI
Take any international flight to New Delhi or Kolkata. From there take another flight for Guwahati. On arrival you will be assisted taken to your hotel. After a sumptuous lunch here, visit the famous Kamakhaya Temple and Navagraha Temple. In the evening, you can take a boat ride in India largest river, the Brahmaputra. Also pay a visit to Srimantha Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Assam biggest art complex. Spend the night in the hotel.

Day 2

shilong.jpgDay 02: GUWAHATI - SHILLONG
In the morning, undertake a 100-km road journey to Shillong. Check-in at your hotel. Reserve a visit to the Rock Gardens for the evening. This is the most visited tourist attraction in Shillong. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

cherrapunjee.jpgDay 03: SHILLONG - CHERAPUNJEE - MAWSYNRAM - SHILLONG
From Shillong, North East Experience - Assam and Meghalaya takes you for a full Day excursion to Cherapunjee and Mawsynram. The former has a number of amazing limestone caves some of which are yet unexplored. And, the latter is the place that receives the world heaviest rainfall. It also has a huge stalagmite in the shape of a natural Shivlinga hidden in a cavernous cave. Drive back to Shillong hotel for the night.

Day 4

jainta hills.jpgDay 04:SHILLONG - JAINTIA HILLS - SHILLONG
From Shillong, drive to Jowai. North East Experience - Assam and Meghalaya then takes you to a full Day excursion to the Jaintia tribal villages in Jaintia Hills. Here, you can see tribal life from close quarters. Drive back to Shillong in the evening and stay in your hotel for rest of the night.

Day 5

North East Experience - Assam and Meghalaya again takes you to the vast Kaziranga National Park, as there might be lot of things left unexplored. Take an elephant safari inside the park. Have lunch in one of the small restaurants inside the park, and post lunch, try out a jeep safari. Take some rest in your hotel room for the night.

Day 6

kanha.jpgDay 07:KAZIRANGA - JORHAT - MAJULI ISLAND
Next morning, North East Experience - Assam and Meghalaya readies you for a drive to Jorhat. From Nemati Ghat in Jorhat, take a steamer for Majuli Island. This is the biggest island in the world and has been declared as a National Heritage Site. You can stay at the Circuit House in the island for the night.

Day 7

This Day is meant for fun at the Majuli Island. Visit the Xatras of Vaishnava culture. There are quite a few Mishing travel villages here. The place is picturesque and serene. Strolling on the island is great fun. Stay back in your hotel to spend the night after a memorable Day.

Day 8

jorhat.jpgDay 09: MAJULI ISLAND - JORHAT - DIBRUGARH
Next on your itinerary is a drive to Dibrugarh via Jorhat. Check-n at your hotel here and take a Day break. This will freshen you up for the nest Day sightseeing.

Day 9

Early next morning, North East Experience - Assam and Meghalaya takes you to Rukmini Island. This beach island is located in Vidarbha, a mythological place in the midst of River Brahmaputra, and around 11 kms from Dibrugarh. A fascinating little island, Rukmini has amazing sand beaches, crystal blue waters, and hordes of migratory birds. The sunrise and sunset look splendid from here, as do the majestic Himalayan ranges. Return to Dibrugarh for an overnight stay.

Day 10

flight.jpgDay 11:DIBRUGARH - KOLKATA/ DELHI - ONWARD DESTINATION
From Dibrugarh, transfer to the airport that has connecting flights to Delhi or Kolkata. Then, from these metropolitan cities, the North East Experience - Assam and Meghalaya comes to an end as you take a flight for your onward destination.
